Our goal is to help!

ABOUT US

We are a non-profit organization est. in 1996 in Guayaquil, the most populous port city.

We were organized by volunteers to address the needs of children in marginal areas plagued with crime and violence and underserved by a deficient public school system.

We have recently received from the IRS the 501-C3 denomination to accept tax deductible donations in the U.S.

OUR MISSION

To empower children through a holistic approach where academics, skills training and mentoring are complemented with cultural, spiritual, physical and mental health support for themselves and their families.

OUR VISION

To rescue impoverished children and their families living in highest risk areas, giving them the means to a future with hope and opportunity through education.

OUR RESULTS

• The school we support, Unidad Educativa Felipe Costa v. Buchwald, was started in 1996 with 36 students, currently we have 425 students enrolled in grades 1-12.
• We graduated our first high school class of 34 students in 2013-2014, all of them are successfully working and/or studying at local universities.
• Based on our current enrollment, our number of graduates is projected to continue to increase.

HOW WE OPERATE

• We strive to achieve a self-sustaining model with the help of our many volunteers, individual donations, as well as corporate and college partnerships.
• Though the generous support of so many make our efforts possible, the pool is limited locally and sometimes we fall short, which directly affects the sustainability of our programs.

Friends of NCF in the U.S. recognized the importance of the work we do, and are helping us in our quest to continue to provide quality education as a means out of the poverty cycle in which our students were born, giving them hope for better futures for themselves, their families and the society in which they live.
